Object removal guide

Natural object removal for cleaner real estate photographs

Unwanted furniture, cables, bins, vehicles and personal belongings can pull attention away from a property's strongest features. IFOTO removes those distractions while preserving believable architecture, texture, perspective and light.

01

What is real estate object removal?

Real estate object removal is a specialist retouching service that digitally removes distracting items from a property photograph. Unlike a simple crop or clone, professional removal rebuilds the hidden wall, floor, landscape or furnishing detail so the edited area fits naturally into the scene.

The objective is not to misrepresent the property. It is to present the room clearly by removing temporary clutter or visual distractions that are not part of the architecture. We follow your instructions and keep permanent features intact unless you explicitly request a different edit.

02

What can we remove from a property photo?

Common requests include loose cables, rubbish bins, cleaning products, small furniture, reflections, signs, garden equipment, parked vehicles and personal belongings. Larger removals—such as a sofa, bed, television or multiple pieces of furniture—are also possible when enough surrounding visual information is available.

Every photograph is assessed individually. Complex patterns, mirrors, glass, strong shadows and objects covering architectural details require more reconstruction than items placed against a plain wall. Send the original high-resolution file for the most natural result.

03

Our object-removal workflow

First, we review the brief and identify the elements that must remain untouched. An editor then removes the requested objects and reconstructs the concealed surfaces with matching perspective, grain, color and illumination. Straight lines and repeating textures are rebuilt carefully rather than blurred over.

The finished image passes through quality control at normal viewing size and at close zoom. We check for repeated patterns, broken edges, inconsistent shadows and accidental changes before delivery. Approved references can be saved so future properties follow the same standard.

04

Turnaround, source files and pricing

Standard projects are commonly returned in approximately 12 hours, including weekends and holidays. Very large removals or high-volume orders may need a confirmed schedule. JPG files are accepted, while full-resolution JPG, TIFF or layered source files provide more detail for difficult reconstruction.

Pricing depends on the number, size and complexity of the objects, the background hidden behind them and the required delivery time. A small item against a simple surface costs less than removing furniture that covers windows, flooring and architectural lines. Share representative images for an accurate quote.

05

When object removal improves a listing

Object removal is useful when a property cannot be photographed completely empty, when temporary items distract from the room, or when an otherwise strong exterior is interrupted by bins, cars or equipment. It can also help photographers rescue a frame without arranging a costly reshoot.

For rooms that need a complete visual redesign, virtual renovation may be more suitable. That workflow clears the existing interior first and then presents a newly styled version, giving clients the original, virtually cleared and market-ready result.

Object removal questions

Practical answers before you send a project.

01Will the edited area look natural?+

Yes. We rebuild perspective, texture, edges, grain and light by hand, then inspect the result during quality control. The available detail in the source photograph affects what can be reconstructed.

02Can you remove large furniture?+

Yes. Beds, sofas, tables and other large items can often be removed. Images with visible surrounding floor and wall detail produce the most convincing results.

03Do you change permanent property features?+

Not unless requested. Our default is to remove only the objects identified in your brief and preserve the architecture and permanent fixtures.

04How should I mark the objects to remove?+

Send a reference image with circles or arrows, or provide a numbered list matching the filenames. Clear instructions reduce revisions and speed up delivery.

05Can I test the service first?+

Yes. You can submit up to five representative images for a free test with no credit card or long-term commitment.
